From input to interpretation

How ReadAstrology works

The platform follows a staged pipeline so calculated facts are not silently replaced by generative text.

Core commitments

  • Validate inputs
  • Calculate deterministic facts
  • Explain only after evidence exists

These pages describe current product and editorial practices. They are operational disclosures, not legal advice, certification, or a guarantee that every provider or feature will remain unchanged.

Step 1: validate the input

The system checks dates, times, coordinates, timezone information, names, and required fields before a calculation begins. Focused public calculators request only the inputs needed for that result.

Birth-time uncertainty is surfaced because it can materially change the Ascendant, houses, angles, and some timing results.

Step 2: calculate the system-specific facts

Western and Vedic engines calculate planetary positions and chart structures. Chinese workflows apply calendar boundaries and stem-branch rules. Numerology workflows show the letter mapping and number reduction.

The output is structured data with evidence fields, not a paragraph generated from an unverified prompt.

Step 3: explain, synthesize, and save only when requested

Interpretation is added after the calculation. AI-enabled features receive structured evidence and are instructed to preserve uncertainty, contradictions, and system boundaries.

Public calculator previews are not saved by the calculator endpoint. Private profiles, readings, or convergence reports are stored only within authenticated product flows when the user chooses to save them.

Frequently asked questions

Does AI calculate the birth chart?

No. Deterministic astrology and numerology engines calculate the structured result first. AI is used only in features that explain or synthesize those results.

Why can two astrology systems disagree?

Different systems use different zodiacs, calendars, timing methods, and interpretive traditions. ReadAstrology preserves those differences instead of forcing one system to imitate another.
