Key takeaways
- Houses depend strongly on local birth time and place.
- Different house systems can place the same planet in different houses.
- Empty houses remain connected through their signs and rulers.
Methodology: The calculator discloses its house system and preserves exact cusp and planetary longitudes.
Astrology and numerology are cultural and symbolic traditions, not scientifically validated methods for predicting events, diagnosing conditions, or guaranteeing outcomes.

What houses represent
Astrological houses divide the chart into twelve sectors associated with areas of life. The first house begins from the Ascendant in many systems, while the Midheaven anchors the upper chart.
House meanings are interpretive conventions. The cusp degrees and planetary house positions are the calculated layer.
Why birth time matters
Earth rotates roughly one degree every four minutes of clock time, so chart angles can move noticeably even within a short period. A small time error may change house cusps or the Ascendant near a sign boundary.
When birth time is approximate, responsible software should label house results as uncertain rather than hiding the limitation.
House systems can disagree
Placidus, Whole Sign, Equal House, Porphyry, and other systems divide the chart using different rules. A planet may therefore appear in different houses while its zodiac longitude stays the same.
The chosen house system should always be disclosed. Comparing systems is an interpretive choice, not a correction to the planet's position.
Reading houses in context
Interpret the sign on a house, its ruling planet, planets inside the house, and major aspects to those planets. Repetition across those factors is more useful than a single keyword.
Empty houses are not missing life areas. Their signs and rulers still connect them to the rest of the chart.
Frequently asked questions
What are the twelve houses in astrology?
They are twelve chart sectors traditionally associated with identity, resources, communication, home, creativity, work, relationships, shared matters, belief, career, community, and retreat.
Why does my planet change houses on different websites?
The sites may use different house systems, coordinates, timezone offsets, or rounding rules near a cusp.
Does an empty house mean nothing happens there?
No. An empty house is still interpreted through the sign on its cusp, its planetary ruler, and transits through that sector.
