The letter-to-number chart
Pythagorean numerology cycles the Latin alphabet through numbers 1 to 9: A through I map to 1 through 9, then J begins again at 1.
Names should be normalized consistently. Accents, punctuation, hyphens, suffixes, and non-Latin scripts require an explicit policy.
Core name numbers
The Expression number reduces all letters of the full birth name. The Soul Urge reduces vowels, while the Personality number reduces consonants.
The exact letters, values, subtotal, and reduction chain should remain visible so the user can verify the result.
Date-based numbers
Life Path reduces the birth date according to a declared method. Personal Year combines birth month and day with the target calendar year.
Different numerology schools may reduce month, day, and year separately or combine all digits. A calculator should state which method it follows.
Master numbers and interpretation
Many Pythagorean systems preserve 11, 22, and sometimes 33 instead of reducing them immediately. The rule must be applied consistently throughout the calculation.
Numerology is a symbolic cultural practice, not a scientific measurement of ability, health, or destiny. Interpretations should be framed reflectively.
